Introductory course to metagenomics data analysis (17h).

Sequentia’s metagenomics summer course will introduce metagenomic data analysis to professionals from different backgrounds that work in basic research or applied R&D.

Directed to: biologists, biochemists, biotechnologists, bioinformaticians, engineers and other life science professionals that would like to broaden their knowledge on metagenomics data analysis.

Course structure:  90% practice –  10% theory.

    • Amplicon-based​
    • Shotgun-based (WGS and WTS)​
  • Bioinformatics approaches​

  • Bioinformatics formats (FASTA, FASTQ, BAM)

The practical sessions of the course will include:

  • Analysis with QIIME2
  • Taxonomy and funcion using read-based approach
  • Taxonomy and function using assembly-based approach
  • Metatranscriptomics

Schedule: 1 week (3.5 hours per day) / Monday to Friday, 10 – 13:30 (CET)

Format: Online (via Google Meets). 

Trainees per group: 7 max. 

Requirements:

Basics of command-line terminal (Bash) and R.

An attendance certificate will be provided at the end of the course.
