What is this course about?
This 3-day hands-on workshop (12 hours total) will teach you how to integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into Shiny applications focused on biological data exploration.
We won’t just stop at theory: you will build a functional Shiny app step-by-step that not only displays biological datasets but also allows users to interact with them through an AI chat, connecting results with external scientific literature and controlling key risks such as hallucinations and API costs.
Who is this course for?
This course is specifically designed for researchers, bioinformaticians, data analysts, and technical staff who already work with R and want to explore the potential of AI applied to interactive environments.
Prerequisites:
- Basic R programming and plotting.
- Experience working with data frames or tibbles.
- Note: Previous experience with Shiny is not essential (we will do an initial review), but a fluent command of R is required.
